Oregon Dairy Council
Commission Information

Oregon Dairy Council is a designated entity (dba) for the Oregon Dairy Products Commission.  The Commission is part of the Oregon Department of Agriculture Commodity Commission Program. Oregon’s Commodity Commissions are semi-independent state agencies established by the Oregon State Legislature in 1943.  The Oregon Dairy Products Commission is established under ORS 576 and functions under Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 617. 

Oregon Dairy Products Commission is a Qualified Program with legislative authority provided by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Dairy Product Stabilization Act of 1983 (7 U.S.C. 4501-4514 as amended through May 7, 2010) and the Dairy Promotion and Research Order passed by industry in 1984.

Rules and Rulemaking

The Oregon Dairy Products Commission does not currently have any proposed rules. 

When the Commission engages in rulemaking, it includes on this page a statement of potential fiscal impact of the proposed rule; summary of the proposed rule; FAQ documents pertaining to the rulemaking; and minutes from rulemaking meetings. Public comments will also be published on this page during the rulemaking process.

Public Meetings Grievance

If you believe the Commission has violated the state public meetings law, you may submit a written grievance to the Commission within 30 calendar days of the alleged violationThe grievance must include: 

– Date of submission 

– Name and contact information for the person filing the grievance 

Date of meeting when the violation occurred

Description of the specific facts and circumstances of the alleged violation 

Any other information required by Oregon Government Ethics Commission rules.

The Commission has 21 days after receiving the grievance to provide a written response to the person who filed the grievance and send a copy of the grievance and the Commission response to the Oregon Government Ethics Commission.
