Operations Director

 

Oregon Dairy Council (ODC) has a leadership position open for an Operations Director. This role holds responsibilities in the areas of finance & accounting, the effective management of internal systems & processes, general regulatory compliance, and supports human resources administration. We are looking for an experienced professional to maintain fiscal stability through effective, strategic planning and resource allocation. In this role, you will also manage and perform administrative and information technology operations and partner with and support the Executive Director in activities to further the mission and long-term vision of ODC.

Oregon Dairy Council operates with a $2.7 million dollar budget. We are a small office with 8 people, located in Tigard. You will report to the Executive Director and work closely with her to support building a highly functioning team of professionals.

As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for a broad range of activities that ensure the operational success of the organization. 

Those responsibilities include:

 

General Operations

  • Provide all administrative functions including but not limited to: Contract management, Board support, public records management, compliance with legal statutes, administrative rules, and office management.
  • Assess and provide recommendations for improved efficiencies or workflow changes, including technology-focused resources.

Accounting & Budgeting

  • Process accounts payable, other cash disbursements, accounts receivable, and other cash receipts.
  • Prepare ODC financials and conduct monthly financial review.
  • Work with Executive Director to develop and manage the annual budget.
  • Enter payroll data and process payroll with third-party program.
  • Prepare state and federal annual reports. Manages fiscal audits.

Human Resources

  • Inform employees of changes to benefits offered through PEBB and PERS. Manage open enrollment and any change of status.
  • Support the Executive Director with recruitment, on/off-boarding and employee records management.

Information Technology

  • Manage contract with IT vendors to maintain IT systems and information security.
  • Purchase software and hardware according to schedule and within budget.

We are looking for the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or other, relevant field and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in operations, specifically including previous operations leadership.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Intermediate to advanced accounting software skills, particularly in Sage Intacct.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience in working with legal considerations including contracting and government policy.
  • Experience in human resources, including benefits and other HR support.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain genuine, strong, working professional relationships.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet and Concur.

The Operations Director position is full-time and works a hybrid schedule with 3 days in our office. The position is exempt with a pay range of $98,000 – 105,000, depending on experience.
