Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole or 2% milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ounce dark or milk chocolate, finely chopped (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of powdered chai
  • Whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional for topping)
  • Instructions

    1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until just starting to steam – don't let it boil.
    2. Add the chai tea bag (or loose tea in a tea infuser) to the warm milk. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer you steep, the stronger the chai flavor will be.
    3. Remove the tea bag. Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
    4. For an extra indulgent touch, add the chopped chocolate and whisk until melted and velvety smooth.
    5. Pour the chai-infused hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a dash of cinnamon for an added sprinkle of warmth.
